Government Relations Manager

AMI Healthcare is expanding its services into SE Asia in the development and operation of hospitals in the region. For our office in Bangkok, Thailand we are seeking a Government Relations Manager to work as an advocate and business leader responsible for executing government relations and regulatory support. The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interact and develop relationships with the government authorities for licensing, regulations and permissions
  • Facilitate interaction of Senior Management, Stakeholders and Industry leaders
  • Engage effectively with internal stakeholders on business plans
  • Provide advice, counsel to business teams regarding government filings, in-force filings and other regulatory submissions
  • Manage effectively and timely processing of all relevant permits, licenses, visa etc. to ensure streamlined operations
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a legal or government relations position with particular emphasis on regulatory affairs and policy-making within highly regulated industries;
  • Strong insurance product experience;
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time;
  • Ability to collaboratively develop strategies with the business, while providing guidance on government relations aspects of those strategies;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives, regulators, legislators and other elected and appointed public officials;
  • Proven track record of personal advocacy and relationship building;
  • Bachelors Degree;
  • Verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to influence people, build relationships and communicate key issues and strategy; and
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group.
  • Fluency in English and Thai required
