Director of IT (for China)

AMI Healthcare, an international healthcare services provider of hospital operations and management, is expanding its healthcare operations into Asia.

AMI Healthcare is engaged in the commissioning phase of a new multi-specialty clinic in Guangdong province, China. The medical center will have seven (7) stories with a total of 13,000 sqm of clinical space and be equipped with state of the art technology to provide advanced diagnostic and treatment. More than 50 medical specialties including day surgery will be offered in an outpatient environment. It will be one of the few international clinics that also has specialty centers for Diabetes, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Women’s Health and Oncology. The building is already constructed, and design and construction are expected to be completed within the next 9-12 months. 

SUMMARY
Seeking a Director Information Technology (DIT) who will provide technology leadership in strategy, management of essential IT and health information system operations, assets, infrastructure, security, and support services for end-users for the medical center. This is a critical role within the medical center and will be central to collaborating closely with medical center management as well as AMI Healthcare corporation. This role requires relocation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To plan and implement the IT infrastructure and the Health Information system
  • To lead a support team that will manage and maintain a wide range of applications and services of the medical center
  • To interact with the directors and the management team to deliver sustainable and effective IT operations for the medical center
  • To assist department leaders in identifying best practices using effective team building techniques
  • To assign and coordinate the work of Information Technologies staff, contractors and vendors
  • To provide overall technical leadership within a structure that is consistently expanding through organization wide system development and departmental utilization of microcomputers
  • To lead the development of a service-based and client-centered culture by maintaining focus on building client relationships, enhancing knowledge-centered support, developing talent, ensuring ownership and accountability, and adopting best-practice processes and systems to achieve operational excellence
  • To develop and implement of information systems disaster recovery plans
  • To develop staff and monitor programs to support production services including staffing, standards, productivity analysis, cost factors, benefits realization, and operations processing
  • To direct the day-to-day operations of the assigned area(s) of responsibility, including the allocation of resources and staff
  • To anticipate developments and remain current in fields of information technology advances
  • and be able to apply them where applicable
  • To coordinate planning, design, implementation, and technical support of organization wide information systems, networks, and departmental applications
  • To direct the development of the Information Technologies operating budget and maintains necessary controls to assure compliance with budgeted expenses, resources, and staff projections
  • To assist in the development of organization-wide systems standards (hardware, software, network systems) policies and procedures
  • To direct the utilization of information system resources and plans, designs, and implements organization wide information systems and technologies

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent. Master's preferred
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in IT Management with increasing responsibilities
  • Must have strong experience running IT operations from strategy, technology, security, processes and people management standpoint in a large medical center or healthcare setting
  • Must have proven experience with Mac OS, Microsoft, network servers, cloud-based networking, helpdesk systems and processes, collaboration platforms, firewalls, and backup systems
  • Must have strong experience with certified compliance of various machines / computers, implementing business continuity and disaster recovery programs
  • Must have experience installing and configuring computer systems
  • Must be excellent at diagnosing and solving hardware/software problems
  • Must have ability to educate on processes, strategy, and investments
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills and ability to manage tight budgets
  • Must have ability to multi-task in an ever changing and fast pace environment
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills (including verbal and written) in a collaborative environment, where knowledge sharing, and team building are critical
  • Bilingual speakers of English and Mandarin is highly desired
  • Must be willing to travel as needed (domestic and international)


COMPENSATION
  • The compensation and benefits package comprise of a salary (commensurable to the position, candidate's experience and qualifications) plus annual bonus, medical insurance and other fringe benefits.
